Academic Engagement and Technology

The Academic Engagement and Technology (AE & T) Committee of St. Mary's College of Maryland consists of members from Campus Technology Support Services (CTSS), the Library and Media Services, the Office of the Provost and the College Faculty. The purpose of the AE & T is to share information regarding issues of technology and its uses on campus, and to act as a forum for the development of policy relating to instructional technology. Areas overseen by AE & T include faculty life-cycle computers, computer labs, classroom media, BlackBoard, and the online course evaluation system.

The AE & T replaces the College's Learning Systems Group (LSG), which reported to the campus community through the Silicon Ear. Many editions of the Silicon Ear are archived here, so please, take advantage of this resource should you find yourself asking, "What was it I heard about "insert technological issue here."

If you have any questions or concerns that you would like the AE & T to consider, please contact them by emailing Doug Toti here. All topics will be discussed and shared with the appropriate individuals and departments on campus. You may be contacted, or asked to attend a meeting if additional information is needed to address your concern.

Members of the Academic Engagement and Technology Committee include Linda Coughlin (Associate Provost for Academic Affairs), Celia Rabinowitz (Director of Library and Media Services), George Waggoner (Chief Information Officer), Doug Toti (Learning Systems Supervisor), Jeff Krissoff (Senior Computer Technician), Lane Anderson (Media Infrastructure Specialist), Roger Stanton (Psychology Department), Brian O'Sullivan (English Department and Director of the Writing Center) and Al Hovland (Chemistry Department and Faculty Facilities Liaison).
