The Lucky Stone
adopted for stage by Merideth M. Taylor
Synopsis
Adapted from the popular book by Lucille Clifton, the play takes the shape of a family tale, told by great-grandmother Elsie Pickens to her granddaughter Sweet Tee, of a lucky stone passed down through the generations from slavery times to the present. Performed on a simple set by two actors accompanied by musicians, the production weaves music, movement and dance into the story telling.
