Use of Calculators:              For some problems, calculators may be used;  however, the possession of a

(graphics) calculator is not essential for the course.  Generally, calculators

should not be used for computations or graphing that can be done easily with

paper and pencil.  Calculators are not allowed on tests or the final unless I specifically permit their use.

Homework:                            I will regularly assign homework problems, and you should work as many

problems as possible to make sure that you keep up with the class and understand the topics covered.  Homework will not be graded;  however, you may turn in problems for corrections, and you should bring up questions about homework problems or \topics that have not become clear to you in class.  I also encourage you to come to my office if you need help.

Teaching Assistant:            Leigh Langmead, an upper-division mathematics major, will be teaching assistant for this class.  She will attend classes, help with working problems in class, and conduct help sessions

Tests, Evaluation,

     and Grades:                      To be discussed.

Final Exam:                            Thursday, December 18, 2:00 – 4:25 p.m.
