Use of Calculators: For some problems, calculators may be used; however, the possession of a (graphics) calculator is not essential for the course. Generally, calculators should not be used for computations or graphing that can be done easily with paper and pencil. Calculators are not allowed on tests or the final unless specifically permitted by the instructor.
Homework: I will regularly assign homework problems, and you should work these problems to make sure that you keep up with the class and understand the topics covered. Homework will not be graded; however, you may turn in problems for corrections, and you should bring up questions about homework problems or \topics that have not become clear to you in class. I also encourage you to come to my office if you need help.
Teaching Assistant: Kevin Smith, an upper-division mathematics major, will be the teaching assistant. He will attend classes, work some problems on the blackboard, and conduct help sessions
Evaluation and Grades: To be discussed.
Test Dates: To be announced.
Final -- Wednesday, December 18, 7 - 9 p.m.
