Upcoming Workshop/Conference:

Poetry and the Journey Toward God: An Interfaith Exploration
June 1-5, 2010

Based on programs previously offered at Washington National Cathedral's Cathedral College, this conference will explore some of the ways that poetry, metaphor and reflection can help open us to a more profound experience of the sacred, and draw us more deeply into prayer. Conference sessions will invite participants to engage with a variety of poetic voices such as John Donne, Jane Hirschfield, Hafiz, Denise Levertov, Marge Piercy, John O'Donohue, Mary Oliver, Rumi, William Stafford and David Whyte, to show how poetry can inform and enhance our work of leadership and proclamation.

This residential conference - designed especially for clergy, teachers, and other leaders - will be led by Kathleen Henderson Staudt and Michael S. Glaser. Presentations will be made by Dana Greene, Kathleen W. Glaser, and Henry Miller, with a special evening of poetry from Lucille Clifton. Conference will take place on the campus of St. Mary's College of Maryland in Historic St. Mary's City, on the banks of the St. Mary's River. Fees: $525 includes tuition, accommodations, and meals; or $400 includes tuition, lunch and dinner.
