Phase V:
Final Draft of Artist Statement Essay and Abstract
After
meeting with me to review your first draft of your artist essay and abstract
you should continue your research and reading with particular attention to comments
made during the edit sessions and mid-term critique.
A.
Artist
Statement
This
draft should contain all materials from before with any additional materials if
appropriate (other artist comparisons and or non-art source references). This time around you should focus
on crafting the text into a more coherent, readable essay. This essay should be
boiled down to 8 pages. The essay should be properly footnoted. You should
update your annotated bibliography if necessary and append it to the essay.
B. Artist Statement Abstract
You
should continue to perfect language and condense ideas. Your abstract should be
no more than 500 words. This
abstract will accompany your exhibition so consider your audience when
redrafting.
Take your
redraft to the writing center! This draft is due on Monday 3/28 (digital file) to be edited by you
and your critique partner.
