ART 338 / Observing the Skull: 2 detailed drawings

Due Tuesday, Sept. 16

Assignment: Create 2 drawings of our human skull from direct observation (one a straight-on frontal view, the other a straight-on side). Drawings should be full size (actual skull size) and carefully laid out on individual pieces of suitable drawing paper.

Use direct observation techniques learned before including measurement and basic geometric layout.  Both drawings should be fully detailed.  Therefore I recommend using high quality drawing pencils (varying degree of hardness) not charcoal.

Submitting the Work:

Bring drawings to class with your name on them. (We will also scan/photograph them later on for inclusion in our portfolio.)

Evaluation: This assignment will be graded based on 1. Your ability to correctly capture relative proportions and alignments and 2. Your ability to capture accurate shapes and bone details.
