Preliminary Reading: TBA  DUE M 11

Research: Look up the work of at least two other artists (from list below) and comment on the specific way their work engages interactivity and how the content of their work is effected by the element of interactivity . You can address the artistÕs intentions in general but always use one or two specific works to exemplify your points. Please correctly attribute all references and images (simple footnote / bibliography will suffice). DUE W 20

Analysis: Define and explore the idea of art that directly engages its audience. Write on the possible implications of ÔforegroundingÕ interactivity in oneÕs work (how can it effect the workÕs meaning?) How do artworks that emphasize interactivity function differently from those that do not? Reflect on different ways interactivity can exist in an artwork. DUE M 25

Studio Project and Intention Statement: Create a work that has an implied or literal interactive aspect DUE M 3 Photo document your project and comment on the specific way you engage your audience in your sculpture and how that effects (makes) the meaning of the piece. DUE W 5
