MATH 351 Analysis I Fall, 2014

Course Outline: Chapters 1-5


Tests and Grades: There will be four exams (worth 80% of your course grade, 20% each). One of the four exams will be the non-comprehensive final. Homework will be part of your grade (worth 20%). The homework will be collected at the beginning of class on the day it’s due. Late homework will not be accepted. After it is collected some of the homework problems will be selected for the TA to grade. The exam problems will be the same or similar to those in the homework and the examples worked in class.


Dates for the exams:

R 9/19; R 10/10; R 10/31;

Final: Classmeets 10-11:50 → W 12/17 9-11:15 am

Final: Classmeets 2-3:50 → M 12/15 7-9:15 pm


Grading(roughly):90-100%“A+”,A,A-;80-90% B+,B,B-;70-80%C+,C,C;60-70%D+,D,“D-”;0-60% F;

Early Infinity License: In order to pass Analysis II, you'll need to pass an infinity exam and get an infinity license. However you may choose to take the exam this semester. If you fail, you may retake it. Any math faculty can administer the exam at any time.


Early Latex Homework: In order to pass Analysis II, you'll need to turn in one homework which you typed up using latex. Again you may choose to do this for some (or all!) homework this semster.
