MATH 111 PreCalculus Fall, 2009

Course Outline: Chapters 1-9, 11, 12


Tests and Grades: There will be five exams (worth 80% of your course grade, 16% each). One of the five exams will be the non-comprehensive final. You will be allowed to retake each exam twice; only your best score will be recorded. The exam problems will be the same or similar to those in the homework and the examples worked in class.


Homework will be part of your grade (worth 20%). The homework will be collected at the beginning of class on the day it’s due. Late homework will not be accepted. After it is collected some of the homework will be graded. After homework is graded you are required to redo any problems that were done incorrectly; otherwise your score on that homework will be changed to zero.


The class-time will consist of lectures for the full class. Work in groups. Working one-on-one with me (or the TA). And working alone.

Grading (roughly): 90-100% “A,A-;80-90% B+,B,B-; 70-80% C+,C,C; 60-70% D+,D; 0-60% F;
